CHILDREN'S CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
The lesson plans for Children’s Christian Education/Formation come from Lesson Plans That Work which is published by the Episcopal Church. The plans follow the Revised Common Lectionary. Children hear the story of the Gospel reading for the day and participate in various activities such as coloring sheets, hands-on crafts, and often act out the story to help them understand the lesson. We have a fun time in CCE learning about God’s love for us and sometimes sharing what we have learned with the adult CE class!

April 28 – May 19 Homecoming and Forgiveness Through Rembrandt’s Masterpiece
Facilitators: Peggy Kwist & Ginga Wilder
Noted theologian and Roman Catholic priest, Henry Nouwen's book The Return of the Prodigal Son - A Story of Homecoming, is the foundation of our Easter Adult Christian Formation offering for April 28 - May 19.
The book is an account of Nouwen's chance encounter with a poster depicting Rembrandt's "Return of the Prodigal Son." Nouwen experienced a soul stirring response to the painting. His fascination inspired a spiritual quest to probe his own understandings of the nature of forgiveness and why it is such a necessary piece in our attempt to comprehend the nature of God.
Join us for an interactive exploration of Nouwen's journey in faith as we strive to chart our personal searches through examining the subjects of Rembrandt's masterpiece.
The Return of the Prodigal - A Story of Homecoming may be purchased through Amazon.
